Freezing Holds
Patrons can suspend or "freeze" requests. This means that the patron's position in the hold queue is skipped over until the request is reactivated. This allows the patron to stay in the hold queue while holds are filled for patrons further down in the queue.
Log into your patron account to freeze or unfreeze requests.
To freeze a request:
1) Check the box in the Freeze column for the request.
2) Click the UPDATE LIST button.
3) Click YES to the question "The following hold(s) will be cancelled or
updated, would you like to proceed?"
To reactivate a request:
1) Uncheck the box in the Freeze column for the request.
2) Click the UPDATE LIST button.
3) Click YES to the question "The following hold(s) will be cancelled
or updated, would you like to proceed?"
The system does not allow a patron to freeze a request if:
- the hold can be fulfilled by an item that is: available, in-transit, or on the holdshelf for the patron
- the hold status is "IN TRANSIT" or "ON THE HOLDSHELF"
- the hold is more than 255 days old
