Student Poetry Slam
WHAT:
A poetry slam for Jefferson County high school
students (grades 9-12) sponsored by the
Birmingham Public Library and
Real Life Poets.
Participants write and perform an original work
inspired by the theme "SPEAK OUT". The participants in WORD UP! will be
the winners from each school's contest. Each school is responsible for
holding its own contest.

First place is $300
Second place is $200
