Catalog Records Policy
The Jefferson County Library Cooperative (JCLC) is an organization of 22 member libraries (40 locations) public libraries. One of its most important services is the integrated public catalog that provides bibliographic and holdings information for the materials located in each library location.
All of the bibliographic information is produced and maintained by the Catalog Department of the Birmingham Public Library. Each member library of JCLC as well as the Cooperative helps to pay for this vital service.
Access to the public catalog is restricted to the viewing of information or as the gateway to approved databases. Bibliographic records are purchased from OCLC for the specific use in the JCLC database. Setup information to transfer these bibliographic records to non-JCLC members is not allowed.
