Summer Reading 2013 – Can You Dig It?
By Katie Jane Morris, Hoover Public Library
Dig
into the past. Dig into nature. Dig into fun when you DIG INTO READING
at your local library this summer. No matter what your interests, this year’s
Summer Reading theme encourages you to explore to the core. Are you amazed by
dinosaurs or fascinated by mummies? Have you ever planted a garden or searched
for buried treasure? Have you ever explored a cave or watched a construction
site? Are you curious about animals that make their homes underground? Are
you curious in general? Then Summer Reading is for you! You can excavate
earth-moving knowledge when you read informational books. You can tunnel
through amazing worlds when you burrow into story books. And that is just the
beginning! There’s more to Summer Reading than buckets of books! Every library
in Jefferson County also offers opportunities to dig into puppet and magic
shows, concerts and movies, games and crafts, book clubs and parties. Get the
dirt on how your library will help kids DIG INTO READING this
summer by visiting.
